I was looking through my google photos recently and re-discovered this picture.

Every time I go with my wife to visit her family in South Florida I see that car and knock on the door trying to buy it. It has been there for 8+ years, never moved. Lady who lives there says she doesn’t know if she wants to sell it.... I want it to be mine...

Perfect car for my son and I to save and work on.

It's probably better that it's painted red. If it was the original stainless she would probably have more people trying to beat down her door.

There was a 1950's Mercedes 300 when I lived in Hawaii, a guy who worked for Pan Am had flown it in. I was chatting to the guy and he said he would just give it to someone who would get it running and take care of it. After a while I said I would look at it. Then when I got there he started talking money, I was like, wtf? Anything in the classic dept. territory for Merc will be expensive, I said I could maybe work on it but not work on it and buy it. So that was that, weird turn of events. Why say you wanted to give it to a good home?

Someone spent some money on that car at some point just to get the paint to stick. Red is an amazing color for them, I saw one that was in perfect shape in a slightly brighter red, it was amazing.
